An excellent handbook covering the postal history of the Sikkim-Tibet campaign. Well illustrated, including several pages of colour plates. Moreover it offers an unusual example of the mingling of civil and army post offices. "Besides providing detailed postal history of the Campaign, the book offers much useful information in its Appendices for researching postal covers - Roll of Officers, Table of Post Offices, Postal Rates, List of Stamps and Seals and many illustrations. Part 2 of the book contains a Table of Recorded Postmarks and their drawings specially prepared by Dr. Wolfgang Hellrigl. The contemporary Field Post Office Diary of the Campaign containing a rare day-to-day chronicle of postal work and problems on Field Service is reproduced in Part 3 in its entirety."
