Baldus, Wolfgang - The Postage Stamps of the Independent State of Acre
Publisher: privately published by the author, Munich, 2004.
Paperback, colour illustrated, 32 pages, slight shelfwear, spine area slightly sunned, in Good condition.
Booklet No. 2 in the series of booklets about unusual stamps which are not always accepted by philatelists or are difficult to classify. These include local and fantasy stamps, stamps of phantom states, and stamps of dubious origin of which only little is known. This booklet deals with the stamps issued by the Independent State of Acre - a remote region of Brazil's Amazon basin bordering Peru and Bolivia. Acre declared itself independent three times between 1900 and 1903, and at least one postage stamp was produced during that turbulent period. The history of the production of the stamps and of the later special cancel are examined in detail. With many fine colour illustrations. An excellent study, full of information which would be difficult to find elsewhere.

Baldus, Wolfgang - The Postage Stamps of Clipperton Island
Publisher: privately published by the author, Munich, 2006.
Paperback, colour illustrated, 68 pages, some slight wear to the covers, small mark to a couple of pages, a Good reading copy.
The fifth title in a series of booklets about unusual stamps which are not always accepted by philatelists or are difficult to classify. These include local and fantasy stamps, stamps of phantom states, and stamps of dubious origin of which only little is known. This booklet deals with the stamps and postal history of Clipperton Island - a tiny atoll in the eastern Pacific which lies about 670 miles southwest of Mexico. The author deals in great detail with the mysterious postage stamp issues of 1895, and investigates the handful of covers known to exist. The surprisingly rich postal history of this obscure island does not end with the dubious stamp of 1895, and the author goes on to describe the Clipperton overprints on Mexican stamps, and the island's naval and aviation postal history. Very nicely illustrated with numerous fine colour illustrations. A fascinating study, full of information which would be very difficult to find elsewhere.
