An informative little airmail postal history study which relates the fascinating story of how Britain remained in touch with her vast sprawling Empire during World War II by way of the Horseshoe Route. A route flown by B.O.A.C., with assistance from other airlines, from Durban in South Africa through East Africa, the Sudan and Egypt, via the Middle East and Indian sub-continent, on to Singapore and the Netherlands East Indies and finally through to Sydney, Australia - with a service linking it to New Zealand! It tells of alterations, additions and disruptions to the route with additional information on supporting routes, postal rates and postal services provided.
