The sixth booklet in Philip Cockrill's series on the philately of Ethiopia. The first 8 pages deal with Ethiopia's fiscal stamps, which for a long time consisted of the definitive stamps with a special handstamp or overprint. The remainder of the booklet covers Francois Fournier's "facsimiles" of early Ethiopian stamps, handstamps and postmarks, with detailed notes on how to distinguish the forgeries from the genuine stamps. Well illustrated in black & white.

Originally published as a series of articles in The Philatelist, and reprinted here as this very scarce monograph. A very interesting study of the Great Britain George VI stamps overprinted 'M.E.F.' (Middle East Forces) and used in Italian Somaliland and Eritrea. Includes sections on the various printings, the postmarks, censor marks, and even Air Mails and forgeries. Well illustrated throughout.
