The major section of this sale (lots 1 – 414) consists of the Derek Hammond Giles collection of the Handstruck Stamps of India. Hammond Giles was the author of the main handbook on Indian pre-adhesives, and his collection was comprehensive, with many important items. The rest of the catalogue includes India, Indian Feudatory States, India used Abroad, and an extensive selection of military mails. Very well illustrated in colour.
