Auction catalogue, paperback, 68 pages + 40 plates, text in English, slight crease to front cover, a few tiny blemishes to the covers, slight creasing to page edges of the first few plates, in Good condition.
Known as “The German Sale” because this was the first collaboration between J.M. Bartels of New York with the German auction house Marken- und Ganzsachenhaus. The catalogue includes fine United States, with a particularly important section of US Locals, plus strong Latin America. The president of Marken- & Ganzsachenhaus, Rudolf Siegel, was later arrested for stamp forgery. A very rare catalogue.
