Paperback, colour illustrated, 68 pages, minor signs of wear else in Very Good condition.
The third in a series of booklets about unusual stamps which are not always accepted by philatelists or are difficult to classify. These include local and fantasy stamps, stamps of phantom states, and stamps of dubious origin of which only little is known. This booklet deals with the “stamps” of the “independent state” deep in the Amazonian jungle, variously known as “Republic of Independent Guyana”, “Independent State of Guyana”, “Republic of Counani”, or “Free State of Counani”, but which existed more in the imagination of a few adventurers than in reality. Very well illustrated in colour. A fascinating study, full of information which would be very difficult to find elsewhere.
